Duncan G, from Glemsford, Suffolk was drawn out of the hat as the winner of this years Subscriber FREE WEEKEND.
As reported in our previous blog, last years Subscriber FREE WEEKEND winner Annette had a fab weekend at the Mousetrap and now its Duncans turn.
Unfortunately, Annette’s prize was held up for more than a year due to the Mousetrap closing because of COVID lockdown.
This is our third Subscriber FREE WEEKEND, the first being won by Stacy Pallister.
When contacted with the news of his prize Duncan said:
“We have always enjoyed our stays, and recommended the Mousetrap to anyone we speak to… Its been a tough couple of years for you guys so this is a generous prize. I see you have a good number of bookings for this year already so hopefully we are coming out the other side…”
Even though Duncan has won this years prize, it’ll be no time at all before we are drawing out the winner for 2023, so please keep subscibing.

One of my faves – I love their burgers. This pub restaurant (more restaurant, than pub) is usually bursting at the seams, so I was surprised at being able to book a table. But then again it is only early July – probably need much more notice come mid-July and August.

For a change I decided to take the family over to Burnham Overy Staithe. The walk from the Quayside along the sea defences to the beach takes 20+ minutes. After which, you arrive at the dunes and then the beach opens up in front of you – WOW! No problems with social distancing here. There’s space in abundance. As is the case on Wells beach and all the way around to Holkham.
